Hello everyone, welcome to Dementia-Related, a place where people whose lives have been affected in some form, can feel free to discuss the topic, and by talking, help each other develop better coping skills.
My name is Ron Edwards. I am a Registered Nurse, currently working with patients suffering from Dementia/Alzheimer’s Disease. It has been my focus for almost 20 years. I also lost my MOM to Dementia about five years ago
It is extremely sad to watch a physically able adult struggle the way dementia patients struggle. I am here to tell you that the struggle of the love ones and the caregivers can be just as challenging.
Despite my years of experience working in this area, coupled with my personal loss, I still sometimes find myself wishing that I knew more about the subject.
TIME TO REACH OUT
I wish I could tell you that there is a cure for this dreadful illness but I can’t. If I can help lighten the burden for one love one, or one caregiver, or one family, through talking about it, I will have accomplished my goal.
I am here to start a conversation. Hoping that a little conversation may help to improve our education and our coping skills.
Thank you for these great articles, thank you for your experienced look into this life changing subject, I look forward to reading them all.
